Why I am so "Uncool"

I've used this "SuperUncool" name to start a few online things, including this blog.

So why am I so uncool?

By choice. I really hate trendy stuff. Why would I want to follow a crowd? Doesn't that just prove that I'm void of any personality what-so-ever? Maybe not, but that's probably one of my biggest fears; not being an individual.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not one of those gothic kids that goes around thinking I'm so darn special 'cuz I know how to apply eyeliner. *eye roll* Those kids don't even realize that they're part of a crowd. I mean...duh.

What I mean is, I do what I do because I WANT to. For example, my choice of words, hair styles, clothing, might not always be what's "in". Do I care? No. As long as I like what I'm wearing, (and maybe Josh, haha) then I'm as cool as I'm gonna be. That way, I never have to worry about going out of style.

I dont watch shows that would make me cool just for watching them. Example: The O.C. Wow. What a depressing bunch of adolescent crap. And I'm the same age as those kids! Get over your rich kid self and make a difference in the world. People have it so much worse than Orange County, CA. Bleh.

Oh, and music is another thing. You should see my library in iTunes. I've got everything from Fall Out Boy (pretty darn trendy) to Rolling Stones (who?). People my age look at me like I'm on crack when I blare that kind of music with the windows down. Oh, like I do it for YOUR listening enjoyment. Actually, they'd probably like me better if I were on crack. Atleast being a druggie is semi "in".

Maybe I should have labeled this "Attack of the 'Tude". But then, all my posts will probably be the same. There are ALOT of things I love about life. In fact, there are more things I like than dislike, but liking things is conversationally acceptable. Naturally, I need a vent (other than my poor husband) for the little things I dislike, such as trendy freakin' kids. (Oh, and I get the irony that Blogs are really trendy at the moment, but they have been for about a year and I waited for most of the major hype to die down before I started one, so there *sticks tongue out*)

I really hope Riley doesn't fall into any of those trendy traps. Judging by the our personalities, he should be a pretty laid back kid. I guess thats really up to the kid, in the end. I just want him to be comfortable with himself. If anything, be a trend setter, not a follower.

Rant over.

Awesome. And that's why I love you.
And I think that's what attracted me to you in the very begining, hun.

Riley's gonna be cool in his own way, just like you and I. I'm sure he'll try a few things out like his dad...maybe I'll teach him how to play POG's. Haha!

It's good to have you among the bloggers. Welcome!

Welcome to the blogging world! Did you really say "who?" to the Rolling Stones though? I mean, I don't listen to their music and even I know who they are! You should've said another band like "Scarlet", "Dew-Scented" or "Ram-Zet" -- then people would really be saying "who?"

My target was kids who watch the O.C. I figure, you watch crap like that and you probably have no idea who the Stones are, because you consider yourself too young.

Embrace the classics. ;-]
